Nothing! Shipping within the lower 48 United States is free! We are not offering free shipping at this time to Alaska or Hawaii, and will charge the going rate for either Fedex or UPS, depending on which carrier delivers to your locale.

Where do your teak shower chairs and benches come from?

Our teak shower chairs and benches are made by skilled craftsmen in the cottage industry in Java, Indonesia. They take pride in turning out exceptional products using quality materials from carefully managed government teak plantations where wood is selectively harvested. Teak is only permitted to be removed from the plantations in the same amount as trees are planted to replace the harvested wood. This arrangement benefits not only the craftsmen's families, but also the local and global economies. And it means these men can be gainfully employed without buying from illegal logging operations, which protects the old growth forests and the environment!

Should I stain or oil my teak shower chair?

To maintain its anti-fungal and antiseptic properties, we do not recommend using stains or teak oil on our teak stools and benches used in a high moisture environment.  Teakwood has a life expectancy of 75 years. If left untreated, it ages to a lovely silver-gray patina. Gently sanding the teak will return it to its natural color.
